Hi. I hope after reading this page you get the sense that what I can offer you is different than what is out there - that my care, concern and compassion are not a 9 to 5 act, but are real, 24/7. It’s one of the reasons my listed phone number is my cell – so that you can get a hold of me, without going through a gatekeeper.
I understand the emotions behind your actions. Perhaps you have done something that you might regret, are ashamed or embarrassed about, and which you find yourself helpless to change. I have no judgments or criticisms. I accept you where you are. For example, I know that fighting in a relationship can become a pattern of behavior which is familiar in an uncomfortable way, and oh so hard to stop. I meet you where you are, and thus I have a very unique approach to helping you find peace and resolution during very unhappy, difficult times in your life. No matter what is going on I can help you change addictive behaviors like drug use, alcohol use, shopping, hoarding, gaming/gambling and physical or sexual abuse.
If you are interested, I help you figure out how you got to this point in your life, so that you do not repeat an unhappy life path. Most people are amazed to discover how and why they chose certain self soothing behaviors such as drinking or over-eating. Couples are fascinated to learn what really creates their fights. Everyone realizes why they were helpless to change their behavior on their own. And, most important, they learn how to change in the least painful way possible, and how to maintain their new choices. I once did what you’re doing now, a long time ago. I went looking for help, even though I wasn’t sure just what kind of help I needed. A lifetime’s accumulation of abuse (by alcoholic parents and later a husband) depression, divorce, financial hardships, deaths and betrayals had finally overwhelmed me. I was helped and I would be honored to help you. I have a long history of helping others. I started my psychotherapy career at a small clinic in Oceanside, California. I became known as a client’s rights advocate – going above and beyond, to ensure appropriate care for my clients. In my private practice at Trilogy Guided Imagery For Healing, located in Orange County California, I am recognized as someone who brings unconditional empathy and compassion to my clients. I am highly regarded for my knowledge in guided imagery and counseling skills, and am well respected by colleagues who view me as a valued resource.
I have been a guest speaker for both Hoag Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital, as well as UBS Financial Services, regarding the benefits of guided imagery. St. Joseph in particular encourages the use of guided imagery for pain management and stress relief with their Bariatric, Canter and Surgery patients. Guided imagery is an amazing tool to help deal with the trauma of a frightening diagnosis, and later with pain management and stress relief before and after cancer treatments and most surgical procedures. For the past three years I have appeared on a variety of local radio shows answering questions regarding relationship conflicts, parent-teen issues and the many benefits of adding guided imagery to medical treatments.
Over the past 20 years I have offered workshops on how to recover from emotional, physical, medical and financial traumas. I am skilled at teaching individuals how to manage anger that is negatively impacting their life, and use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, object relations therapy, aroma therapy, art, music, and guided imagery in my sessions with you. In addition, I have in depth knowledge of addiction treatment and 12-step programs, and medical treatments for pain, cancer and obesity, so that I can blend what we do in our sessions with other therapies you might be receiving. Clients are delighted with their long-lasting symptom relief.
I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families recover from even the most destructive betrayals. No matter whether the betrayal was by family, friend, marriage/partner, colleague or even God, I offer unconditional, non-judgmental help so you can move beyond the betrayal. I work with clients, collaboratively to develop effective and long-lasting results. I am especially skilled at helping couples restore trust, hope and friendship back into a relationship that has been filled with drama, suffering and disrespect. Of course there is no greater drama than what can be generated by teenagers, especially in a blended family. I love working with teens and children. Everything is new to them – everything is for the first time. And so, they especially, are highly emotional and vacillate between over-reaction and sullen withdrawal. As a Certified Teen Life Coach I am able to offer a unique coaching experience, designed especially for teens, pre-teens and young adults, minus any objections or worry over “having to do therapy.”
I am always researching new ways to help clients achieve healing and health in their lives. It is an extreme honor to be able to work as an emotional therapist, and I am committed to bringing you the latest and best advances in the practice of marriage and family therapy and alternative treatments. I am certified in guided imagery therapy, domestic violence and batterer intervention counseling. I am certified as a grief recovery specialist. And, I am 1 of only 24 Certified Teen Life Coaches in the entire country.
I am a licensed psychotherapist in the State of California, I hold a Doctorate of Holistic Counseling from the University of Sedona, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Northeastern. I hold an Ordination Diploma from the University of Metaphysics, which qualified me as a Nondenominational Minister, and I was trained and certified as a Disciples Facilitator by the United Methodist Church.
I am proud to be a member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT), the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF). And, I have been a Mentor for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) for the past several years.
It is my truest desire to offer you a higher level of care and a healing touch to the soul.
